FAQ

Everything you need to know about MILQ, your ritual and your order.

ABOUT MILQ

What is MILQ?

MILQ is microbiome-focused, barrier-supportive skincare created for sensitive, reactive and easily overwhelmed skin. Our formulas are designed to work with the skin’s natural rhythm, supporting hydration, barrier function and microbiome balance without overcomplicating your routine.

Is MILQ made with breastmilk?

No. MILQ does not contain breastmilk.

MILQ was inspired by the intelligence of breastmilk as a complete system of support - particularly the way hydration, lipids and microbiome-supportive components work together. We translate that philosophy into cosmetic-grade, skin-compatible ingredients.

What is the MILQ Complex?

The MILQ Complex is the foundation of every MILQ formula. It brings together skin-identical sugars, barrier-supportive lipids and postbiotic ferments to support hydration, barrier resilience and the skin’s microbiome together.

Is MILQ suitable for sensitive skin?

MILQ was created with sensitive and reactive skin in mind. However, every skin is different, so we recommend patch testing before introducing any new skincare product, particularly if you have known allergies or a history of reactions.

THE RITUAL

What is the difference between Renew and Restore?

Renew is our morning serum. It has a lightweight, creamy texture and is designed to hydrate, support the barrier and prepare the skin for the day.

Restore is our evening serum. It has a richer, more cushioning texture and is designed to support the skin through its natural overnight renewal cycle.

Do I need to use both serums?

They are designed to work together as a complete morning and evening ritual, but each serum can also be used independently.

Can I use Restore in the morning?

Yes. Restore may also be used in the morning if your skin is feeling particularly dry, depleted or in need of additional support.

How much serum should I use?

Apply one to two pumps to clean skin. Gently press the serum over the face, neck and décolletage.

What order should I use MILQ in?

Apply your MILQ serum after cleansing and before moisturiser, facial oil or sunscreen.

In the morning:

Cleanse → Renew → Moisturiser if needed → SPF

In the evening:

Cleanse → Restore → Moisturiser or facial oil if needed

Do I still need a moisturiser?

This depends on your skin. Some people may find the serums provide enough support on their own, while drier skin types may prefer to layer a moisturiser over the top.

Can I use Renew and Restore with other active ingredients?

Yes, although we recommend introducing new products slowly. If your skin is reactive or you are using stronger actives, consider alternating them rather than layering everything at once.

SKIN CONCERNS

Which serum is best for dry skin?

Restore is the richer of the two formulas and may be used both morning and evening when dry skin needs additional support.

Can I use MILQ if I have acne-prone skin?

MILQ can be used as part of a routine for acne-prone skin, particularly where barrier support and hydration are needed. However, skincare cannot stop the hormonal or medical processes that may be contributing to breakouts.

Will MILQ treat rosacea, eczema or psoriasis?

MILQ is cosmetic skincare and is not designed to diagnose, treat or cure medical skin conditions. People with diagnosed skin conditions should seek advice from their healthcare professional before introducing new products.

Can I use MILQ during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Our formulas are designed as cosmetic skincare, but we recommend showing the full ingredient list to your healthcare professional if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have specific concerns.

Will MILQ cause purging?

Purging is generally associated with ingredients that accelerate skin-cell turnover. Irritation, redness or worsening sensitivity should not automatically be considered purging. Stop use if discomfort persists and seek professional advice if needed.

GUA SHA

How do I use the MILQ Gua Sha?

Apply your serum first to create slip, then glide the Gua Sha gently across the skin using light outward and upward movements. Avoid heavy pressure.

Can I use the Gua Sha every day?

Yes. It may be used daily, provided the skin feels comfortable and you are using gentle pressure.

Can I use the Gua Sha in the sauna?

We recommend using it after the sauna, once you have showered, cleansed and applied your serum. This gives you better glide and avoids using it over sweat or overheated skin.

How do I clean it?

Wash with mild soap and warm water after use, then dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
